Wednesday Wist
So how do you participate in Wednesday Wist? You take your ipod, winamp, windows media player, mp3 player, itunes player..whatever you use. Put it on shuffle. Grab the first 5 songs and write what that song makes you remember. If it's a new song...and you can't relate it to a memory....do you like it? Leave me a comment if you do it on your site and if you don't have a site, comment what you would leave if you did have one. Oh...and feel free to comment about my songs as well!!!
Wednesday Wist Mix: October 26th, 2005
Barrel of a Gun - Guster
She will be sweet on me, just like a mystery
It's not so hard to see if I'm not mistaken
She comes from far away, and gets closer everyday
And all that I can say is that she's all I want and all that I
live for
I heard Guster for the first time when I was listening to the old WCLZ out of Portland. My ex and I had tickets to BNL and Guster opened for them. I was completely in awe the entire performance. The bongo guy is kick ass and their music is just really listener-friendly. Great band. If you don't know them..check them out.
Perfect Girl - Sarah McLachlan
The riot in my heart decides to keep me open and alive
I have to take myself away from you
cause I cant compete I cant deny theres nothing that I didnt try
how did I go wrong in loving you
This song reminds me of K.H. His initials are all you're getting. My friends will know who he is. I went to this concert with Pam, Jaime, and Sonya and at the time I was really close with K.H. But the song lyrics were perfect for my relationship with him...he was such a wonderful wonderful person....we just met at the wrong time in our lives. I could easily use words like regret but I won't. K.H. was perfect for me for the time he was in my life. He was a great friend...and excellent peer and just a good guy. I was lucky to experience him.
(talk about wist)
Mercedes Boy - Pebbles
Do you wanna ride in my mercedes
Boy?
Tell me what you're gonna do with me.
'cause if you wanna ride in my mercedes
Boy
There are so many things that I'm gonna do to you.
This song came out in 1988, I think. I used to LOVE it. I still find myself being all giddy when I hear it play over my ipod. Pebbles....what a name.
Face Up and Sing - Ani DiFranco
I know I can't be the only
whatever I am in the room
so why am I so lonely?
why am I so tired?
I need company
I need backup
I need to be inspired
Ani DiFranco is one of the most talented singer/songwriters there are. She's energetic...she's incredible live...she reminds me of college, of my early years as a teacher, and of how much now she inspires me to inspire young women of today's day and age.
I Need You - Edie Carey
I was taking pride in being lonely
I was busy making friends with myself
Theres nobody else who really knows me half as well
This artist was a friend of Skip Peri's and he mentioned her to me the one time I met him. This song is just so sweet and nice. Good songwriting and someone I'd suggest you guys look up if you like singer/songwriting.

No ipod. What's worse, no tunes at work! AAARRRGGGH. Next week I'll make sure to listen to five songs either on my way home Tues night or on my way in Wed. morning. This looks like a lot of fun!
Great pics of the girls below, btw.
OMG! I use to spend hours trying to get my hair to look like Pebbles. The straight look. BAWAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

Why bother making such an obnoxious comment? Really, why bother?
I will definitely give this a try next week!
